A Carol & Edward wedding affair

I did this wedding  a while back, and by that i mean a year and a half ago. Ladies and gentlemen, i present to you Edward and Carol.

The beautiful ceremony was happening at the famous Enashipai hotel in Naivaisha. This was not my first time there though so i was quite familiar with the place.

The hotel is pretty big so they utilize golf carts to carry luggage and guests around. Yes, the bride was a guest too 🙂

DSC_3370Normally after I have met the couple and them having reserved the date, i like to brief them on some do’s and things to avoid at their wedding. They really took my advice  well.

DSC_3437Let us solidify those vows shall we?

DSC_3450 DSC_3470

DSC_3546I really love it when the bride and groom have their own moment and get caught up in their own world. Those are moments i really like to look for during the ceremony.

DSC_3571And it was a wrap. More celebration time.

We then did a brief photo session at the grounds. The positioning of the sun as at that moment was not bad at all so i decided to utilize the ambient lighting it provided while i could.

DSC_3670 DSC_3684

The running and jumping shot may have become quite cliche. I have to admit though that i loved how the bridal party nailed it. They hinted the idea and i went with it. I tend to welcome ideas from anyone really. The variety you can achieve from those ideas are quite diverse.

DSC_3730 DSC_3732

I thought we were done with the jumping. Well, not just yet people.

DSC_3785 DSC_3803Naivasha can get cold. I love the fresh air from there but the cold did not spare us that day. On the events leading to the cake cutting, the bride was freezing but as you can see, the groom was kind enough to lend her his blazer. Nothing but love right there.

DSC_3911 DSC_3915 DSC_3922We finally headed near the lake for the final photo session. I would actually say the weather at that time was perfect. The sun was setting meaning i pretty much was going to call the shots on lighting.

DSC_3983 DSC_3997 DSC_4002 DSC_4014

DSC_4039 DSC_4053I had seen the waterfall earlier in the day and wanted to use it at night. It provided for a really nice backdrop.

Hope you enjoyed the post. Blessed week everyone.

The Brenda collection

A while back, i had the opportunity to do one of my favorite fashion shoots yet. Brenda is her name. I had done her wedding and she called me up to shoot her collection and i was excited.

DSC_5060 DSC_5076Why? Because it was pretty much a dream team. Make up artist, director and photographer. Oh wait…a stylist too. Brenda gave me the discretion to experiment with my lighting and boy did i have fun.

DSC_5137 DSC_5144

The place had a variety of spots to utilize so we pretty much used everywhere.

I decided to use a two light set up for the whole shoot. It went as planned and was able to get my highlights just right.

A Ms Kibati dedication

I’ve done shoots for Caroline for quite a while now. I remain forever grateful to her for always hiring me to do her shoots.

DSC_0657 DSC_0696She has been one overly persistent fashion blogger i have come to know. But with her bubbly nature, she is quite the perfect candidate for photos.

DSC_1154 DSC_2043 DSC_3175So what you see here is a fashion blogger who has evolved over time. I am happy to have been the person to capture her journey behind the lens.

DSC_3758 DSC_3768I wanted to do this on her birthday but since it is not anywhere close, i couldn’t wait. This blog post is pretty much an appreciation to her for being loyal and letting me capture and tell the story. She is one fashion blogger who of whom i have witnessed come from far. As for what lies ahead, God knows.

DSC_6641 DSC_8544I took some time out to select my best photos from almost each shoot I have done for her. As you can see, they are quite a number.

DSC_8704 DSC_8987She has a website with amazing content on her fashion sense. You can check it out here

Showers of blessings maybe?

DSC_6848 DSC_6901Yes, the floodgates of heaven opened up on this particular day. We didn’t exactly see it coming despite the wet morning.

DSC_6967 DSC_6990Anyways, i was excited when I was contracted to do this wedding. Why? I shall explain shortly.

DSC_7027 DSC_7038The crowd was from my church pretty much. You can imagine the excitement when i got to the venue. So many people to say hi to, but i had to work too.

DSC_7080 DSC_7085 DSC_7127 DSC_7140 DSC_7150As you can see, it was drizzling heavily. So you can imagine the amount of juggling i had to do for the sake of my equipment. Was i complaining though? Not at all. You rarely get images of people in the rain so this was quite the opportunity.

DSC_7196 DSC_7200Finally, the man of the moment entered and as you can see. the excitement was real.

DSC_7228 DSC_7243 DSC_7253And the beautiful bride finally walked down the aisle. Aren’t they just cute together?

DSC_7284Initially, the rings went ‘missing’ and the groomsmen were tasked to find them. And yes they did or rather, someone had them…

DSC_7294 DSC_7304 DSC_7312They finally said their vows and now they could live happily ever after but wait….not just yet. It was that time *cough cough*

DSC_7341 DSC_7344 DSC_7347She was feeling shy to give his man a kiss. The groom, in a way, serenaded the bride and she finally gave in and a lovely kiss it was.

DSC_7352It was a wrap and they were excited. Disclaimer: They love to dance and when i say they, i mean the whole bridal party.

DSC_7393 DSC_7398 DSC_7405 DSC_7434 DSC_7446 DSC_7451We then headed for the photo session and since time was not on our side (again lol), i was under pressure to capture the best in the shortest time possible.

DSC_7489 DSC_7493 DSC_7505 DSC_7512 DSC_7514 DSC_7527 DSC_7566And off we were to a very muddy reception. Like literally. On the contrary, it was fun though.

DSC_7624We survived though despite the mud. The condition of everyone’s shoes was well…errr….not the best. Now for the cake munching 🙂

DSC_7729 DSC_7773In many ways the bride was super entertaining. why? Let us see.

DSC_7963 DSC_7971 DSC_7974I hope you enjoyed the post. Enjoy your week everyone 🙂

A Tabitha & Eddy Bishop Wedding

It’s been over one year…wow. How time flies. I’m excited to get back to blogging. I have so much backlog so i shall pretty much start anywhere. DSC_3492Our bride for today is my former schoolmate at USIU. She finished her studies and eventually flew to another country. Late last year, she got back to do her wedding in kenya and she hired my services as the photographer of the day, albeit indirectly. DSC_3495Let us just say she was not aware till when we met up during her bridal shower. I was super ecstatic, no doubt.

DSC_3628 DSC_3681My style in photography has been changing over the years. I appreciate the growth i have been going through, it’s been what i have been aiming at. All in all, i hope you shall enjoy this blog post since it’s been quite a while.

DSC_3688 DSC_3701 DSC_3752 DSC_3777It was my first time meeting the groom, a very cool person.

DSC_3803The line-up was quite the number. They danced their way down the aisle and that was enough to make good memories.

DSC_3812 DSC_3827 DSC_3852The sun was out and as much as the people at the wedding loved it, not so much for me. I am usually not a fun of harsh shadows. With time though i have been able to capture the detail of the gown despite the scorching sun.

DSC_3908 DSC_3912 DSC_3942 DSC_3952It was amazing to see her smile as she made her vows. I was honestly very happy for her.

DSC_3964 DSC_3969 DSC_3979The groom was asked to kiss the bride. He was hesitant for a minute, then crowned the moment beautifully.

DSC_4114 DSC_4118 DSC_4121 DSC_4125And it was a wrap.

DSC_4156We then headed to tribe hotel for the photo session. I had been here before so i really avoided using the same spots for the photos. It’s a challenge i like to give to myself.

DSC_4198 DSC_4206 DSC_4209 DSC_4216 DSC_4223The bridesmaids looked amazing so you can imagine the dilemma for a single photographer. That aside, i had met them before so they cooperated with ease.

DSC_4247 DSC_4251I was scheduled to do an evening shoot for the couple so we didn’t take as much, plus time was not exactly on our side and off we dashed to the reception.

DSC_4296 DSC_4372My favorite time came. Yes, i love cake very much so excuse my excitement.

DSC_4432 DSC_4459 DSC_4473 DSC_4484You may have to excuse me if i don’t show the usual customary pics, i like to take the not so ordinary path sometimes.

DSC_4514We finally headed for the evening shoot at their place for the night. I love to capture chemistry between a couple. As for these two, it was seamless.
